Holiday Decoration Ideas for Decks
Posted December 20, 2021 to Before You Buy: Tips, Advice, Checklists.
The holiday season is finally here. Since many homeowners invite friends and family over to celebrate during this time of year, a lot of residents in the Triangle put heavy importance on decorating their home, inside and out. With decorating at the top of many individuals’ December to-do lists, there are lots of ways that one can revamp the exterior of a home for Christmas, especially with a deck. In this blog post, Sierra Structures will discuss how to get the most out of your deck for the holiday season.
Our favorite ways to decorate your deck this year are:
- Twinkle lights: This one might seem the most self-explanatory, but running lights, white or colored, along the perimeter of the deck is a great way to add some holiday cheer. Not to mention, the extra lighting also makes a great environment for outdoor entertainment. These lights can be enjoyed all year long.
- Artificial trees: Because of the outdoor elements, we suggest using an artificial tree to decorate outdoors. These trees look especially beautiful in screened-in areas where homeowners can take full advantage of the space even during the wintertime. Many choose to use a timer or remote control, so they can turn on the tree lights from anywhere in the house.
- Greenery: Adding festive greenery to any deck is an easy way to “spruce” up the space during the holiday season. Whether it be adding a wreath with winter flowers or garland with lights along the edges, it will look inviting and ready for the holidays.
- Furniture accents: If you have furniture on your deck, you can always add in holiday accent pieces like Christmas-themed throw pillows or real poinsettias. This lets the homeowner’s personality and design preferences really show through for guests.
Decorating for the holidays shouldn’t have to be a dreaded task every year. We suggest inviting friends or family over and listening to classic Christmas songs to get more in the holiday spirit. If you’re currently looking to install a deck, contact us for a FREE quote.
