- Durability: When choosing a fence for your pet, you are going to want a durable one. Life happens, and things end up broken or damaged, so choosing a durable fence to keep your pet safe is a smart decision. Metal fences are very durable, but in the chance, they get damaged, professional help will most likely be needed to repair. On the other hand, rail and wire fences are not the most durable, as wood can be easier to damage than metal, but are much simpler to repair on your own. This choice is dependent on your wants when it comes to fence maintenance.
