Have you noticed that your fence is sagging, warping, or looks discolored? Unfortunately, these are the effects of weathering and heat. Wooden fences often require a lot of upkeep maintenance so they can maintain their look. There are a couple of different ways you can get your fence looking nice again.

3 Ways to Climate Proof Your Wooden Fence:

  1. Paint: Tired of the wooden look? You can paint your fence and have it look fresh and also have a flair of color. Paint seals the wood and helps protect it from rain and moisture. Also, acrylic paint is the best paint to use for your fence because it expands and contracts with temperature changes, so it won't crack or blister because of the temperature changes.

  1. Stain: When it comes to finishing a fence, the most commonly used method is staining. There are many benefits to staining your fence, it seals the wood so it doesn’t soak up moisture and rot. It also protects from the sun, and UV rays are very damaging to wood. It can last for a couple of years but it will need to be redone to extend the life of your fence.

  1. Cleaning: You should consider getting your fence power-washed from time to time. Mud, leaves, grass, and moss can build up on the fence and cause damage. Also, the vegetation can lock moisture and attract mold, which can be very damaging to your fence and cause the wood to rot.
