Prevention Tips for Termites in Wooden Fences:

Oil-Based Primer and Stain: The oil-based primer is designed to act as a termite repellent and will keep them away. Also, utilizing an oil-based stain can also shield off the termites because they don’t like the taste of it.

Termite Proof Paint: You can purchase paint that is mixed with termite-resistant chemicals. In order to get quality protection, you would want to add 2-3 layers of it. Using a oil-based primer and termite proof paint together will provide extra protection.

Use Plants that Repel Termites: There are plants that repel termites and will shield them away from your fence if planted next to it. These plants usually have strong scents or scare termites away by attracting predators. Some common plants include garlic, mint, and lemongrass.
